what is the difference between Zodiaq and Silestone counter tops?
Answers:
We are an independent installer of both Zodiaq and Silestone. First of all, warranty claims for these products are rare...approx. 1 per 100 installs. The real difference when comparing warranties lies in the speed and tenacity at which the fabricator in your city responds to the claim. This would, of course, vary by fabricator. So, instead of comparing warranties, both of which are for 10 years, compare fabricators. Get the name, phone number and address of the last 3 jobs they installed and see for yourself if they measure up to your standards. Both products are equally as good as the other, but your installers can vary from a trainee to a master craftsman. Regarding a price comparison, here in the St. Louis area, Silestone's price is lower and therefor commands a much greater market share. I'm glad you've chosen quartz, regardless of the maker, you will have a durable, elegant, maintenance-free countertop for many years to come.

Do a Google seach with these two phrases: "Problems with Silestone" and "Problems with Zodiaq." You'll find message board where people have posted their comments and complaints. Take those back to your salesperson and have them addressed.
As you've probably already figured, Zodiaq and Silestone are just different brands of the same thing: engineered quartz countertops.
It's interesting to me that the salesperson is haggling over warranty--because the quartz is advertised to be more durable than granite. What are they guaranteeing?
