i'm moving, walls in house are mahogny wood! my furniture is brown, tables, entert. center is also! what can i

what can i do to brighten up the room. hint on curtains. i know white or beige would work, i love color. what do you think would set off my living room, so u want see just all dark colors of the room? help!

I agree with colortx on painting the paneling. I also have dark leather furniture and assorted items in my living room. I have nice brick red and creamy yellow pillows to set off the leather sectional. I threw in a cream colored bench (decoration only) with a red throw and again creamy yellow pillows. A couple of large colorful bouquets bring light into other areas of the room.

I know this may sound just wrong, but ever thought of painting your paneling? I know how beautiful mahogany paneling is but if it is older, it may look dingy and dated. I had the same problem and we decided to remove all the paneling and put up Sheetrock. It looks SOOO much better. If you decide to paint the paneling, MAKE SURE to use a primer. Otherwise you will be painting forever. Good luck!
