Redecorating problem. Can I possibly do it...on a budget of $500?
Oh...and do you know where I could get a cheap T.V.? Still work-able, but just cheaper? Like under $250?
Thanks.

Walmart for the tv, a new one is best or you just get other people's tv problems. I got a 20 in. for under $300. Look in alley ways! I mean it. Go to a" better" part of town and do a look see. You can always get slipcovers or do a simple paint job to make it your style. Or ask your family and friends if they have stuff stored that you could use or have. If you do not paint, try a grouping of favorite things. They don't have to be "framed"to look super. Buy mixed styles of frames of all sizes(or look in the alley or family attic), spray paint them the same color and place them around your favs. Or just paint the wall behind the frames in different colors & that will enhance you decor and brighten up the basement without having to paint the whole room. You can find furniture at thrift and consignment shops and you can always barter with them for a better price. If the owner of the piece isn't there get their ph.no. and ask! Flea markets and yard sales are also great. You can get a few yards of fabric( go to the bargain tables 1st) and tie it or hot glue it on to pillows or sew it if you can, also drap it over rods for curtains, and use it to drape or make slipcovers for your mismatched furniture. $500. will go very far IF you take the time and use your imagination. You probably have a friend or two or family that know how to paint or sew or can quickly learn the simple techniques to get through this redo! I wish you well.

The texture of fabrics varies but all of them add warmth and personality to a room. Many possibilities are available in decorating shops, making the work even easier by selling fabrics and papers in the same pattern.
Traditionally it was used to cover walls but has since given way to wallpaper, which is more practical and easy to use while carrying out the same function.
Here are ten household helpful hints for choosing floor and wall covering fabrics to decorate your home:
1. Use fabrics to provide soundproofing in noisy rooms.
2. Curtains or blinds allow us to play with light.
3. Choose flooring like according to a room’s use.
4. Use tough floorings like marble, stone, or tiles where lots of people move about, especially if they have hard heels or dirty soles.
5. Use warm flooring like carpets or wood where you will walk barefoot.
6. Before choosing flooring, try and determine how it will look in the lighting of a room.
7. Take good care of your flooring to ensure it will last a long time.
8. Avoid paint in areas with heavy circulation. Tiles and marble are both washable and longer lasting.
9. When deciding on the flooring and the wall coverings remember just how much space they occupy and therefore how important they are.
10. Well-matched wall coverings and floorings can be mutually enhancing so it is best to select them at the same time.
