My dining room is 11x14; what size rug should I get?
Answers:
I would look at something around 8'x10' that way you can be certain it will accomodate your table and chairs without the back legs of the chairs scooting off.
Other answers:
5x8 minimum
5x8 minimum
If you are talking about under your dining room table, the rug should be large enough that you can push your chair back from the table and not have the back legs of the chair fall off the rug.
I've heard the rule of thumb is all furniture on or off the rug, nothing half and half. That said, you should find a rug that covers the space of your main area.
We were looking into getting a rug for our living roon and decided to get a smaller one that fits nicely under the coffee table, and it looks great.
