What is the "maximum" size rug for an 11'x14' dining room that would look best?

Answers:
Measure the table and chairs with the chairs pulled out from under the table as if everyone is sitting down. Now, you want the chairs to always stay on the rug but you don't want to cover up the floor. A standard table in this fashion can take an 8x10 but you can go as far up as a 9X12.

Other answers:
5' x 7'. but if you don't wants the chairs to "fall over the rug", then get something like 7' x 9'.

Design is usually based on thirds. One third smaller would roughly figure 9x6 as the closest you can make in standard sizes.
