Formica within my kitchen?
Answers: You can tile or paint the Formica back splash. The most defining thing to remember is to properly prepare the slick surface first. You necessitate to rough the surface with sandpaper so that your primer or mastic will properly hang. Use products made to adhere to your surface and if you own any doubt ask at the store before purchasing your products. A lot of your project nouns will depend on the preparation work and selection of products.

Yes, you can paint it but it's profoundly of work. You can also put new laminate over the matured without ripping out your countertops. Check next to the mfg of the product you intend to buy for how-to info. And yes, you can also tile over laminate. Anyway, here's how painter John Dee paints laminate:

You should sand a bit… no hard labor for any of THAT Painter Lady's' girls. Lightly sand next to a palm sander or by hand. Use a fine grit sandpaper. This will not with the sole purpose give the counter some tooth to grab hold of the paint, but will ensue the counter doesn't have any greasy or chunky spots.
Then Clean… Clean and verbs again with TSP or some other correct industrial strength cleaner.
Prime… yes you must Prime! I am using a primer made by Zinsser that bonds to plastic.
