Leaky kitchen faucet?
My kitchen sink hot water faucet have a tiny drip, and then ending week I noticed it running rather a bit around the base of the faucet. Also some at the stand of the center spout. The guy at Lowe's sold me a variety pack of 'o' rings, and said that might be the problem.
I be going to attempt it, and turned the shut off spigot off tonight, but hose down started coming from near this tap. I quickly turned it put a bet on counter clock-wise some, until it was basically a slow drip. I put a bowl there, and hope nil leaks more overnight.
I looked this up on a few websites, but don't recognize the parts they are referring to...I need laymen's vocabulary for dummies...and how do I know what is leaking exactly? I can't really afford a plumber right in a minute on top of everything else.
Any input would really be appreciated. Thanks.
Answers: You can do this. Don't be afraid. In certainty, for less money than a plumber you could install a intact new faucet and marine hoses under your sink!
You could possibly involve some new teflon cassette around the water shut sour valves and the hoses conected to them, or maybe some new hoses as the seal can get brittle and start leak with the first tightening. They are pretty inexpensive.
The seal or washers around the faucets sound resembling they do need shifting as well. Lowes probably sold you the correct ones; however, did you attain plumbers putty or does your faucet seal lacking it?
Last of all, I enjoy found the best free advise to be from Home Depot over lowes. They own continuing ed classes and hire retired trade professionals often and at minimum to hack it the departments of plumbing, electrical etc... Get advise from the dept. checker.
Last of all, hold you looked into getting (for yourself while selling and for the buyer) a home warranty? This could ease your worries nearly major systems going out while selling your home. I would extend assurance to buyers in this housing bazaar as well. I'd consider it.
Best of luck
