Painting Techniques?

The higher the gloss of paint, the more blemishes in the wall you'll notice! Go FLAT if you have something to hide, but you still want to paint!

Paint sections of the wall and while paint is still wet drag a whisk broom down the wall thru the paint. It leaves cool little lines and helps hide imperfections.
Add a texture to the paint; you can obtain this from any hardware/paint/discount store. And you can use a paint that doesn't require additional primer (such as McCloskey's) that
has primer already added. You can choose fine, medium, or coarse texture, usually 1 bag per gallon. Just be sure to stir often as you are painting so that the sediment doesn't glob up or settle all to the bottom.
You can add texture to the paint and that would resolve the imperfection issue. Also, try a deep color with bright white trim to take your eye away from the problem area.
I concur. Use flat paint
