how do you get paint smell out ?
Answers:
Never tried it but, an old wives tale is to put a raw, peeled onion in the middle of the room. It's supposed to absorb the paint odor.

Newspaper works great for getting smells out. I have only ever used it in fridges, tupperware, etc. But maybe if you bunch some up along the base boards it will absorb the smell. Leave for about 24 hours and then throw out. Hopefully the smell will go with it.

Air the room out.
You need to leave the bathroom fan on or the window open...eventually the smell's going to fade...and the more fresh air it gets, the faster it will go.
You have a few options depending on what you have on hand. Try filling a plastic container with charcoal, the kind you use for the BBQ and leave it in there for at least 24 hours. Or, use baking soda in the container for the same amount of time. Or, white vinegar, same concept. Or if you have the powdered carpet freshener or 20 Mule Team Borax. All of these work about the same. Try to leave a window open nearby and if it is a tiny little commode room, place a free-standing fan at the door way BOWING OUT to exhaust the fumes.
Open the windows & put a fan in the doorway. The air moving will help dissapate the fumes.
place vinegar in the room in a saucer 1\4 inch deep also use an outside satin or semigloss next time and its got a mold killer in it and lasts longer also you can add vanilla extract to the paint inside and it helps drop the smells about 1 tablespoon a gallon or in the basement or a bath use any paint and add an ounce of household bleach in the paint mixed good it stop smell and mildew for quite some time a parafin candle drops the oders in a room scented too you cant wash the painted room for a month also at the drugstore is a product called Nil-Oder its a one drop cure drop a drop in the corner close the door and come back later and air it out ,,, a house painter 26yrs
