$2.50 sq. ft.
$2.50 sq. ft.
It is around $2.25 to $2.50 a tile. This should include the labor and grouting.
the labour market for tile is driven by location
floors average 4.00 sq.ft.
counters and backsplash average 5.50 sq. ft.
be more specific of where your at
tile and stones like marble or granite require more setting labour like sealing etc..
About $3 to $5 per square foot or $25 to $50 per hour in CA, depending on the difficulty and if it includes a setter and a helper. The price will be higher if you are not contracting directly with the setter and going through a company that is taking a cut. I have been out of the business for several years but this should be close.
7 bucks a sq, that is way too much. is that through a contractor or a flooring store. flooring stores will rip you a new one.
that is actually a fairly competitive price considering the appliacnes and toilets that have to be removed and replaced. Thats alot of work in itself. I hate when I go to a home to install tile and the customer expects me to be a plumber, carpenter and furnture mover all for the price of installing tile. it doesn't work that way!
If you want them to lower their price, have all the appliances and toilets out of their way when they get there so all they have to do is install tile.
As you can tell from the responses you've gotten the Square foot prices varies greatly from region to region.
I can tell you in the Florida area the average is $2-2.50 a s/f. I'm farther north myself closer to the NJ area where the average square foot for installaion is running anywhere from $5-$7 a sq/ft depending on material being installed , the sub floor its being installed over and the labor intensity of the design layout.
At $3200 for 450s/f your square foot cost is averaging @ 7.11 a s/f.
Depending on the area you're in,it might be well worth it to get another estimate or two.
Ina any case, hope you find this info useful and good luck.

That sounds about right, but use someone whos doing it on the side instead of a big company and you'll save a ton of money.
