We are re-painting our kitchen cabinets, but I have a quick put somebody through the mill. In one corner, there is a poorly constructed enlarge face cabinet. It is only a large box, essentially, which we own been using to hold specs and such... but it is falling apart. I can tell the previous owners built it out of cheap jot board. It is 28 1/2" tall, by 36" far-reaching, and 11 1/4 inches deep, and it have another shelf along the center.
I am looking to rebuild the cabinet, but out of better objects. Its going to be sanded and painted, so it doesnt call for to be "pretty" wood, but it needs to be strong. I thought possibly plywood and then trim it out... but will that hold up over time?
Answers: Plywood is idyllic. Make sure you use a little wood gum. Home Depot here has be selling a maple plywood for like $25 and is apt for what you want to do.
You can build a new one. Plywood is a moral choice. I would use trim screws for fastener and fill the dimples beside wood putty and paint. Good Luck!
