Is a home insertion allowed?

I'm considering buying a vacation home.

One of the listings I'm considering is a lovely property, but the house needs deeply of work. And having looked at it and others similar to it in the nouns, I think I'd want to donate a small addition: probably extend the house by around 15 foot on one side. This is a 2-story house around 30 feet widespread, so I'd be adding around 500 square foot, and the new space would be completely sympathetic inside (big living area next to high ceiling and chimney). I'd probably have an 8 or 12 foot deck extending stale that.

This is pretty hypothetical. But I don't think I'd want to buy the place unless I thought I'd be allowed to affix the addition. How do I find out if that sort of increase is likely to be approved? Can I a short time ago ask the city hall? Is near a way to find out if other similar additions enjoy been approved surrounded by the area?

Answers:    Call the building permit office within your area. They will be capable of tell you if you can procure the required permit for the supplement. Not all houses surrounded by your area hold legal additions.
If you hold a real estate agent, ask them. It's their charge to know, or find out. What you need to be concerned more or less are the set backs. These are the distances from the property lines.
