Does it look o.k to have blinds and curtains on the same window?

Answers:
Of course! We like open window treatments, but need privacy as well. Many of our windows mainly have just valances or swags, and that way the blinds can be hidden when not in use.

We also have a set of windows with fabric accordian style blinds that can be raised/lowered from the top as well as the bottom. Color coordinated with the curtains, and they look great! I found the least expensive were at www.domestications.com or from the Domestications catalogue.

Good luck, and enjoy your project!

Yes, it looks fine... depending on the choice of blinds and curtains. They should match or compliment one another.
I think it looks better that way!
I hope so....I have both on all of mine. As far as I'm concerned it looks great!
yes its fine;u can use more of the sheer curtains with the blinds and still get the benfits of the shades and the preetiness of the curtains also its a nice idea to use color cordinate blinds with the curtain toppers to match u room or white blinds and toppers to match room then just shut at nite and open blinds in day
yes it fine ive got them i have nets blinds and curtains but the curtains are just 4 display i dnt close them
Blinds are pretty ugly by themselves, but are great for privacy. Curtains are much more attractive, but often let in too much light, especially if you want to darken a room to watch tv, or for total privacy.

I use both. In my living room, we have long dangly type blinds, and up on a curtain rod, a pretty bit of valance made of fabric. The fabric hides the tops of the blinds, and makes the windows look much prettier.

You can order blinds in all sorts of colors and materials, and get them sized to perfectly fit a window. They can be wood, vinyl, metal or fabric. They last years and are great to block out the cold of winter, the heat of summer, and give privacy.

My windows have blinds, and about 10 inches above the window tops, curtain rods, with some sort of curtain or valance.
Yes depending on the styles you mix together.
As interior designers, we have been doing it for years. We even have blinds, curtains, sheers and cornice boxes on several of our own windows. We live in So Cal where temps ofter exceed 100 degrees in late summer. Layering window coverings help keep the heat and sun out the the house. We've often been complimented on our unique window treatment combinations!
blinds are old fashioned unless you go with the newest bamboo but the problem is you can see through them.It doesn't really matter though,if you like it that is what counts
