For the record, if you can remove the points comment, you should... the Yahoo?Answers team considers it gaming and will remove your question. {just and FYI}
Hmmmm... Disney, pink, preppy and like the tropics... Makes me think of Disney's "Aladdin". Since you're 15 and don't want cartoony stuff all over your room, why not consider going with a kind of Arabian or Eastern Indian idea that kind of celebrates Aladdin and Jasmine?
I think of brilliant jewel tones (like magentas, fushcias, chartreuses, purples, indigos, golds, turquoise), sparkling beads, kind of like a casbah feel. OOOOH! If you want an idea of what I'm talking about, watch "The Little Princess" (the one that came out in the 90's). at the end their room gets decorated lavishly in golds and oranges. It's a bit much (and the wrong colors), but you could get inspiration there - it's the draping fabrics and the 'feeling' that I'm trying to convey to you.
Get a bedspread in a rich deep magenta that has a light smattering of beadwork or sparkling embroidery on it. Add a couple accent pillows in complementary jewel colors (like the others I mentioned above). Hang some sheers in your window that are a lighter shade of your bedspread (maybe with a very delicate bead fringe. Get some lamp shades, hanging lights, picture frames, candle holders and/or framed mirrors that have colored glass tilework that would match the other colors in your room. Maybe a plant or two would add to it. Oh, and anything that looks like black wrought iron would work with that idea, too.
Whatever you do, I hope up end up with a room you really like.

What I would go with is R&R in Target. They have Tropics, Preppy, School girl type stuff but I Went Tropics with R&R

ok, here we go. Are you ready? BLAST OFF!!
take a huge mikey mouse face and make it the covers for your bed, first wash it with some red red shirts to make it tinted pink. then grab some stuffed animals, (disney) and tear off their coats and do the same with them so they all end up pink tinted. Tear up your carpet and put down hundreds of stuffed animal pink tinted skins instead. For the walls you should get huge posters of bright blue ocean waves and plaster your wall with them. that way you will be in the tropics! if you have a knack for being crafty you should buy some green fabric palm fronds and glue them to lamps to make trees.
hope this helps!
ha ha hahahahaha
you could paint a tropical sunset on one wall
spray paint some dark ish orange, purples and pinks for background, then yellow/orange for the sun,
then paint a big black palm tree silouette off to the side
then you can paint your other walls a brigher colour so its not too dark, like a nice sunny yellow
Combine the color pink with one other color and not in just one shade.
A month or so ago my neighbour married and the theme is pink/blue/lilac and it works well , not trashy without being boring.
Then find out which characters of disney you like best /have the necesarry/complimenting color then start choosing.Especially the ones connected to ocean/beach themes.
Choose which part of your room to be the decider , like perhaps the bed that decide the other part of the room tone .
Or maybe your favourite couch or maybe your fav spot oon the windws.
Just because you can't find the reaady made doesn't mean you can't find the not so ready made .
You could try to find the necessary paint color then combine it with white paint .You could also find some fabric and ask somebody to sew it or do it yourseflf.Used cardboxes could be painted / wrapped with colors you like.
Even if the results is disaster you still have a long life to go try new things.
Have fun knickknacking.
Go to HGVT.com and look at the sample rooms, there are quite a few that will fit a 15 year old. And don't give out your age on the net when you are so young!
You're a teenager so probably no Disney bedspread... Just kidding. Try to stick to one theme for the best results.
It might be a challenge to make pink work with tropical colors (orange, aqua, lime green, etc.) but it could work. If you're planning on painting the walls, try a light color like a mellowish yellow to make the room sunnier.
For bigger items in your room, like bedspread, rug or curtains, stick with two or three colors only that all work together. Then you can get framed pictures on the walls of islands and/or Disney (what was that one animated movie where the alien befriends the Hawaiian girl?)
You could also get a lamp or two that are tropical colors.
Plants would also make your room seem more tropical...just be sure that you give them plenty of sun and water. If you're really ambitious, how about a simple fish tank with a few tropical fish?
To top it all off, display a few personal mementos and photos of friend/family/good times.
Hope this helps. You can get some good decorating items at Target or a store like Bed Bath and Beyond. Or even try a second-hand store. I am not sure what "preppy" means...maybe someone else has some ideas?
Since you love Disney, and the tropics, and pink-- how about a flamingo room. (Alice and Wonderland.)
You could even do a beach mural on one wall. Hang flamingo lights.
If you are begining from scratch start by looking for a bed outfit you want. It is easier to match paint to your bedding than the other way around.
I think I would look for a bed spread that has tropical leaves on it and paint the base color of your walls a buttery bright yellow. Then take color glazes in deep blues, emerald greens, teals, pink and purlpe. The bottom part of the walls use the deep blue, emerald greens and teals and wash them on the wall to make the ocean. Then leaving a line of yellow and making a half circle on the wall above your bed or the wall across from your bed and leave that half circle yellow then wash your walls with the other colors to make you sunset. You can easily find picks of sunsets online, Key West sunsets are my favorite, to copy. The washing techinque you can find online or at any home improvement store. Just think of your walls as a canvas and use a rag to paint the ocean and sky. Next use your Disney characters and give them all grass skirts and hang them or place them around the room. Maybe even make a few hammocks to put them in to lounge in. Sandy color carpet or rugs and there is the beach.
Have fun and make it your own...
What I do is I dont necessarily go with a specific theme. I pick a color or colors that I like and then when I see something that I like that is that color, I get it. It yields great results! It's also easier to find stuff, too!
