What is the best mattress? Simmons / Serta / Any other you'd recommend?
Answers:
I bought a mattress for around $1300 and it was the best investment I have ever made. For me, the key was to get a firm mattress with a 2 inch layer of memory foam built into the top of the mattress - the best of both worlds. My warrenty is for 15 years so it will likely last about 20. I got a King Kobra because it was every bit as comfortable to me as the more expensive Simmons version of the same mattress. I think the key is to try it out to decide if you prefer firm or plush. Regardless of which you choose, I highly recommend the type with built in memory foam.

Fiber! Got one and love it!
consumer reports did an article on this one and it came down to personal preference,
they had gone over a lot of facts and figures and of course bought several mattresses but at the end of all the testing theire wasn't one above all others, but they came up with some useful information, being that next to no one changed ther mind after the "15 minuet test"
if you try a mattress and don't like it after the first 15 minuets, you probably wont like it no matter how long you test "sleep" on it , if it feels great to you in the first 15 minutes and you just love it, then it probably is true love and a safe bet that you will be enjoying it for years. most mattresses will last 15 to 20 years ( if the kids don't use them as a trampoline) check out consumer reports for full details.
hope it helps , good luck and sweet dreams
ps. personally i prefer a hammock

Airflex (McCrowsky). Old San Francisco company, still makes the mattress by hand, locally. Uses old fashioned ticking. Can customise to your liking. We have had ours 5 years and it does not show a day of wear. They have a Los Angeles store. Competitively priced. We paid under $2,000 for a CA King.
