it's all marketing. quilted designs feel softer and hold multiple sheets together better. so why not put cutel ittle designs on it rather than just dots or something tha would look more like you have a leaky tap under your sink or something.

It's pleasing to the eye. They make that word of the day toilet paper and you need toilet paper everyday so you might as well get something useful.

I have design toilet paper with puppies at my house. They space the puppies out so you can teach your kids to tear off from puppy to puppy so they dont use up the entire roll of toilet paper in one excursion...

It's a marketing tactic. It's a fact that most people will buy something that is pretty. Personally, I just like the plain white.
So you can tell your friends crazy stuff like, "Guess what man...I wiped my @$$ with a butterlfy today! hahaha!" They'll be like.. "umm.. what?" ;)
No, seriously... it's to make something that's plain seem less boring... and more eye-catching
probably to get you to buy it if you don't know it's not healthy for you! use plain white, no colors,no prints and you will be healthier and no I'm not explaining it any further!
