what is better wood plantation shutters or poly plantation shutters?
Answers:
One problem we've seen with the poly plantation shutters is heat warpage. Everyone is always afraid of that with the wood, but we see more damaged poly than wood, particularly if they cover a large area that gets a lot of sun. The air gets trapped behind them and over time the slats warp. We're in SoCal and temps can get well over 110 degrees though.
And jaybird is right about discoloration, I've seen that as well.

I prefer the look of wood personally. Some people have found that the poly can discolour if you have gas appliances (furnace, stove, fireplace.) and this is usually not covered under warranty.
