I want to paint my room furniture surrounded by black but my ancient one is polished can i still do it ?
Answers: I am going to assume everything that you want to paint is wood. Yes, you can definitely paint but you will have need of a good primer first. You can't only just paint over the polished wood without using primer because it will trim off markedly easily. My suggestion is to use a primer call B.I.N. Use the kind that have an oil foot because the (water based one can also skin off. ) You can find it mostly within paint stores but not wal-mart and probably not a hardware store. So I wouldn't waste time looking in that. Make sure you have really well brought-up ventilation next to this stuff cause it have a strong odor but I used to paint for a living and NOTHING can beat BIN. Good luck! Also you can use marine base paint over this stuff. The rule is usually you can't paint marine base over grease base but within this case you can. Also, depending on what you want for the sheen on the furniture you will involve either semi explain or high interpret paint. Don't use flat or you will be dissapointed. Lots of work but it will be worth it. Hope this helped. Edit: About the 2 answers below mine- sand alone is not enough you really do NEED to prime first and if you use the BIN you do not entail to sand at all. That stuff will even stick to metal and mirrors. EDIT #2: How within the world do you get a thumbs down for giving a thorough in good health thought out answer from someone with experience? Just read Bobs Monocles answer and he is probably correct. Although contained by my experience I have never have to sand first when using BIN but it is not a bad concept. Any project like this is worth doing right and even though it is more work I am sure you want a incredibly nice turnout so it will be worth it. He is probably also correct about the grease base paint. It WILL bestow a tougher finish. Good luck!
Yes you can..just rub it insubstantially with sand newspaper to help the paint hug.
