how do you install cabinet fillers (kitchen)?

Cabinet fillers are used to add distance to the overall width of the cabinets. There are several ways to do this project, but I am just going to give you the exact way I would do it.
1. Measure the distance A (farthest point that the edge of the left cabinet will touch & the farthest point that the edge of the right cabinet will touch)
2. Distance B (measure the width of each cabinet face and add them together - eg. four cabinets 12"+30"+18"+12" [B=72"])
3. A - B = filler distance
4. NOTE: if the filler distance is 1 1/2" or more and there are 3 or more cabinets on that wall - I make 2 fillers that are half of the total distance (or multiple fillers at similar widths) and add them each to the similar cabinets. This process keeps the cabinet faces looking as close to the same as possible instead of a showable gap between two cabinet doors.
5. Place a small amount of the wood glue on the filler and cabinet face and clamp onto the cabinet face.
6. Once the fillers are made, I drill the fillers to provide holes for the screws. I usuall provide 2 holes (1-2" from top and 1-2" from bottom). I also use special drill bits (countersink drill bits), they make things quicker and easier.
7. Insert the screws for quick support.
8. Allow one hour for the glue to set.
9. Install cabinets.
10. Step back and admire your excellent work.

If all the cabinets are installed, and you need to add filler pieces in and around the cabinets, measure the space between the cabinet and wall, then with a table saw, rip the filler to the measured size.
Tap in the filler into the space and from inside the cabinet, use a small drill bit and predrill holes, and then screw in small drywall screws to hold the filler, or use a nail gun with short nails so that it would not come out on the other side of the cabinet.
