My box spring wouldn't fit- any philosophy?
Other than reminding me the importantance of measuring- got any concept so I don't look like a college kid near a mattress on the floor?
extra info: it's a double, and it doesn't have a headboard and footboard, though it does enjoy a small metal frame for under the box spring to elevate it on rolling wheels- there's no "inside" to the frame though.
Money is a little tight after the move so any a DIY or cheap solution would be preferred!!
Answers: Did they have a bed surrounded by that room when they showed you the house? I bet if you contacted your agent you could get an answer on how they fixed it.
Yup, a piece of plywood would pick up your springs for now. If necessitate be, you can purchase a Euro-type bed. Check out Ikea.com for ideas. They don't use a boxframe, instead they use slats underneath the mattress. I don't know how comfortable it would be, but it sure beat sleeping on the floor! And I'm sure they come disassembled--you're probably the only one who can appriciate that! Lol, devout luck!
I used plywood over uniformly sized boxes within the frame. Plywood could be hinged, I simply have a straight piece. I used tomato boxes because they have lids: i use the boxes to store decorations that solitary have to come out once a year (hint: maintain track of what you store under there) also seasonal shoes,, doesn`t matter what is long-term storage. I have 24 boxes underneath there...lots of converted /formerly squandered space!
