how to decorate an apartment that a man may come over and feel relaxed? my place is totally female.?
Answers:
Firstly I am amazed that you feel you need to change your apartment to suit someone else. To be perfectly honest the man in question is probably not interested in what the place looks like.
However I will try to impart some of my knowledge on you. If this really is about making a man feel relaxed take note. Don't do anything that will need a lot of attention, for instance very pale carpets that need endless cleaning, men should not feel as if they should remove their shoes when they walk on your floor. Likewise with furnishings, don't have anything that marks or damages easily, if your man wants to put his feet up without taking his shoes off then he should be able to. I find shades of dark green are very servicable.Green is such a relaxing colour. If he's a smoker make sure there are ashtrays placed in strategic positions so he doesn't feel the need to ask for one. Do not have the place immaculatly tidy, have a few magazines or newspapers lying around. If your place has bows and frills dispose of them, you can have the place homely and feminine without it being sickly and barbie like. Beware don't ever make him feel that he's left a cup mark on your coffee table or dropped a crumb on your floor. To make him feel relaxed you really need to be relaxed yourself, men sense things like that, let him see that you curl up on the sofa rather than just sit bolt upright. At the end of the day if he likes you he should feel relaxed.

Whips, chains, and other assorted torture devices.
Honestly, just hang up a bunch of posters with skantily clad women and you shouldn't have a problem.
Stick a couple of beer cans and an empty pizza box on the coffee table

Actually it all depends on how far advance your relationship is.
First of all put away anything cute and furry it makes us think you're still a little kid.
Second put away excessive photos of family members who are kids. You can have some out but not too many. Makes a guy think you're going from dating to honeymoon all in a weeks time.
Third put away things that you have a lot of. For example Shoes , Purses etc etc. Makes us think you're materialistic and high maintenance.
Don't try to make your apt masculine then we think it just a cover for us and it's not the real you.
I like how people answer seriously, don't you? Anyway, I would just tone down some of the things....perhaps get rid of some of the frill and add some simple pieces....do you have an IKEA near you? They have clean-lined, simple furnishings...you could even look at their website and see what I mean. Just because you tone it down you don't have to take all of "you" out of the apartment. Still keep some of your favorite pieces around, otherwise you will end up with a bachelor pad and not a bachelorette pad. Have a good day!
Keep it simple, too many frills and furbelows make men nervous. Basic, neutral colors, clean lines and a touch of nature (like a shallow bowl filled with pebbles and lucky bamboo as a centerpiece). The key is comfort, a place that feels like an all-girls' slumber party or a magazine show room isn't particularly inviting to men.
Get a big comfortable recliner, a table next to it for his snacks, and don't forget the remote!! Put a few hunting or car magazines in the bathroom, and don't leave any feminine hygiene products laying out in sight. Don't worry, if he likes you, he'll like your place. And you could always ask his opinion.
put a kegerator in the living room
