What is the best way to disguise/camouflage a thermostat?

If you block the thermostat, the sensor won't work properly. since you're suing the wall the as a gallery, you could still put a small shelf above the thermostat with an art object of vase that blends with the theme of the photos and let piece of large leafed foliage drape somewhat to hide it. The foliage would still allow air to get to the thermostat while hiding it from obvious view. You could paint the thermostat in the wall color or color of the greenery (whichever would allow it to recede into the background best). Once the wall is decorated, you won't be able to notice it unless you're looking for it.

depending on the decore of your house, i would think you could find a nice shelf for your wall and those pictures you were talking about well in stead of hanging all of them you could put them in frames and put the frames on this shelf,put at a slight angel you could put one right in front of this thermostat and this would not effect the air flow or the temp around it so it would still work properly and be out of site, yep hang the shelf right below the thermostat and put the pic frames in front of it,and if it still is at all visible then add a little bit of fake ivy weave it in and out of the pics
Break it and tell your landlord you need a new one thats smaller. Tell him you need a new programable thermostat to save on heating/cooling bills.
