who invented the bed?
Answers:
I gotta figure that a man invented the first bed. Imagine a caveman returning to the cave after a long day of hunting, looking at the cold hard stone floor, remembering the soft pile of leaves he rested on in the forest, and the inspiration that resulted! He also would have wanted a comfortable place to rest as he watched the women prepare the food and tend to the children. You get the picture.
I also gotta figure that a woman invented the first bedding. She probably wanted something to go with the cave paintings and would have insisted on certain colors of leaves and moss ... something that eventually led to pillow shams, dust ruffles, and the like.
Good question.
Other answers:
I think beds probably evolved in numerous places at the same time. People have always had to sleep and logic would say that they would have made their sleeping place more comfortable. Once humans were settled in one place for any length of time, they would make themselves somewhere comfortable to sleep. Beds as an object would have evolved from this.
I don't think anyone actually invented a bed.

I hate to say it but it would make sense that a woman invented it and the man perfected it.
it is the woman that makes the bed usually.
And when the men came back from hunting and had gorged themselves on the kill,it stands to reason that the woman had the bed ready and also straightend it up in the morning .
the man than probable thought about it and went out and made a better one with the woman nagging him to do a good job.
