Do refrigerators plug into a standard outlet?
I want to put in a normal-size refrigerator, but I have never seen what connects to it... like water, power, etc. I assume there are kinds that don't need water and can plug into a standard outlet. Is that true? Just wanted to see if folks already know before I go to Best Buy. Also, any better recommendations for places to go for buying a refrigerator?
Thanks,
Steve

They will plug into any outlet
Yes, they have a three prong standard 110 volt plug.
If you don't have water available or don't want to run a line don't get one that has an automatic ice maker.
Refrigerators can plug into any outlet so yes.
Yes, but it has to have a ground I believe
yes, a fridge will plug into a standard outlet, if you dont want to run a water line, dont get one with an ice maker. you may have an issue with power consumtion though, it may draw more amps than availible and trip the breaker. if so, you will simply need to run another power line to the room by adding another breaker. this isnt as hard as it may seem and you may not even need to do it.
lowes may have a better selection than best buy, but im not sure about price. look on the internet before you go to the store to make sure you get the best deal.
Just your average or standard three prong outlet. Your refrigerator runs on 110.
Most refrigerators do plug into a standard receptacle. In your case you should be ok. If the refrigerator has a water hook up most of the new refrigerators will work weather the water is hooked up or not. Unless your getting a very large refrigerator then you shouldnt have a problem electrical wise.
