How can I get real old wallpaper removed, tried to peel it and only comes off in spots.?
Answers:
Purchase a 20 dollar heat gun and use that. It will soften the glue and peel right off. Do not use just a hairdryer, they can not put out anywhere near the heat a heat gun can do.

Rent a steamer. They usually have them available at Home Depot or Lowes. This is a safe way to remove it. You will also need to get a little tool they will direct you to. I don't know what it's called, but it has a handle and a small wheel with sharp points. You run it up and down the wallpaper and it perforates it so the steam gets inside.
Good luck with your project!
There is a steamer machine just for removing wall paper. Find a rental place and give them a call. Heat is not enough!
Use fabric softener mixed with water. Spray it down and let it soak for awhile. It should peel off easily.
I spray it with a water bottle, wetting it. Let it soak and it should come off. They sell a little toothed wheel that's supposed to help it penetrate. They also sell a gel that's supposed to penetrate. The wheel's worthless, the gel's okay (don't let it dry), but the water works best for me.
Just use dish soap like dawn and mix it with water, then spray on and wait about 30 seconds and it should come off easier
YOU CAN BUY A LIQUID WALLPAPER REMOVER FROM LOWE'S OR HOME DEPOT
I have to agree with a few of the others - wallpaper steamers are not very expensive - you can rent one inexpensively at your local paint store. It is well worth the money - because it's so effortless!
I supposedly had strippable paper in my 12 x 20 kitchen - but it wouldn't strip. So I rented the steamer, and it was off in no time!Just steam and lift gently with a scraper! Not bad.
warm.water in a spray bottle.let sit 2-4 min.comes rite off .did it yesterday
Try renting a steamer, or a hairdryer with a sharp scraper
Rent a steam gun. It directs a line of steam on the paper. As it softens the glue, carefully scrape and peel the paper off the wall. If it is on horsehair plaster, you have to be especially careful that you don't remove a chunk of plaster. Also, if it is on plaster, wear a face mask because there is the possibility of lead in the plaster.
you can use a few things here, wall paper steamers, liquid remover, but what i have found works for me is vinegar and warm water in a spray bottle let it soak and use a Spackle knife to scrape it off. (just be careful not to dig into the wall)
