Is their anyone who knows about why the stucco is falling of my house since we had it painted?

The house looked great when it was first done (painted by a professional) and a couple weeks later all of a sudden the stucco is falling off and it looks awful! We had our white stucco painted blue/grey and there are now very noticable white patches. The stucoo wasn't falling of before it was painted, and nobody else I've talked to who have painted their stucco has had this problem. The paint was specifically for stucco but could the painter have done something to mess it up? Any ideas...I'm stumped!

Answers:
It sounds like the painter power washed the building prior to painting, and did not allow it to dry completely, trapping moisture under the paint. This causes the paint to not adhere. moisture trapped under latex paint which in turn causes the paint to blister and peal off. That is the only thing I can think of. If there is to m such moisture in the stucco could weaken the stucco's adhesion since the paint has sealed it in. It takes days for a building to dry out thoroughly before paint can be applied especially as porous as stucco is.

Sounds like it's wet underneath.

IF THE CONTRACTOR USED A PAINT THAT WAS WATER BASED IT SOAKED INTO THE SURFACE AND NOW U WILL HAVE TO CALL IN A PERSON AND HAVE THEM RESTUCCO THE AREAS AND HOPE THE REST IS NOT IN THE SAME CONDITION...IF SO U COULD USE A COUPLE OF HAIRDRYERS AND HOPE THAT WRKS
I'm guessing that this is occurring on the lower part of the wall.
My home is 45yrs old and it was painted before me and that was occurring also on the lower part. The moisture gets trapped and the 'stucco coat' breaks loose from the 'brown coat'. Given time from rain splash etc. it would deteriorate anyway and by painting that accelerated it by trapping moisture. My house had stucco all the way down to the earth and would suck moisture. Now the newer homes there is a space between ground and where the stucco starts. To solve my problem, I cut the stucco at the cement level and chipped off the bottom 2" all around the house. That was a job. Then hired a sandblaster to remove the paint prior to color coating with stucco. I'm sorry you are going through this and have no quick fix you.
