Help!! My fiance has a black laqure bedroom set with crome accents how do I design around it?
Answers:
Sweetie, if he doesn't let you paint it. Then add Hot pink and light pink bedclothes to it. Do a paris themed bedroom with the Effiel Tower. A bright shade of red would also look nice. Or perhaps if the hardware is in silver tone you could use those colors to decorate with.
The best way is to look through some home decorating magazines in your local book store before starting to designing the bedroom itself. Get a 3 ring binder and some clear report covers and put in those design ideas that you like. Make sure most of all that you include your fiance. Just remember he has to sleep and wake up there too! Never go for that "I don't care how you decorate it" speach that they all give. Pick a theme that perhaps you are both interested in. Travel, coffee, techno, perhaps a hobby like climbing, biking, even football will work. Go for simple and elegant on a small scale for now if you are on a small budget. There are ALOT of places out there that have great ides when it comes to the bed-in-a-bag that are in just about everyone's price range.

Any color goes with black and silver.
Forget it. Just leave him. Such bad taste will never change.
huhmmm, matches?????
yeah, burn it. OR paint it. But I would burn it.
Do the girly thing, and buy a flowery bedspread, and put some cute pics around the room...make it your own honey, the black can be overlooked with the right look, you could even go with the leopard print look!
paint it...lots of nice faux (sp?) finish specialty paints out there. Take a trip to home depot or Lowe's, you'll find an answer!
go with a bright vibrant color to mellow it out.
well since ur b/f is black u might just wait till that ni66er girl from upstairs comes back when u leave
can you sand it down and re paint it ,,,, or you can go real modern look and do everything else in the room In white and red.. GOOD LUCK
ex and i had black laqure bedroom set also (was all we could afford at the time please dont judge) anyway we went with the leopard bedset and curtains to go with it wasnt pad once you accesorize the hell out of it
A darker Red, most Blues, White, or some greens would all work with this set. Avoid Orange or Yellow, and stick with solid colors. The primary thing to decide is how bright or dark you want the room to be, if you go with a lighter color theme the Bedroom set will really pop out, but you can make the room seem a little bigger. Painting three walls one color and the fourth a different color as an accent wall could work in this situation too. Black and Chrome lend themselves to a "modern" look.
Try a light cream color on at least the wall that the headboard will set against. That should accent it and if you use black picture frames with an industrial theme it could turn out really nice. It wouldn't be my first choice but I'm sure if you look through some decorating magazines you should be able to come up with something.
The black is bound to darken the room so you must use decorate using light colours to lift it. Most colours will also go with black so that will help. Try covering as much of the top surfaces you can see, such as the tops of bedside tables with thick weave cotton mats in cream for example. It is all a matter of trying to overcome the dominance of the black with lighter colours.
I don't suppose he would let you paint the suite?
All of the accessories should be a light colour, including the flooring if possible.
It isn't just color,it's style as well.I wish i had a better idea of the style but here goes.
I see art deco in Gray and red and white.Keep the textures really clean because as you said the suit speaks for the whole room.Barbra Streisand did her home this way.I saw it in a magazine and it was fab.good luck.
Burgandy accents throughout go well. New bedding, curtains etc.
Don't make it girlie, with flowers or lace.
Black bedroom furniture is hot!
Any colour will go with this. But if you really hate the colour or design, cover it! Slip cover it that is. Find some fabric you really love and go for it Headboards and footboards can be done this way. You can even change the shape a bit with 1/4 in plywood. Cut a piece the basic size but with different shape at top and extended an inch or so above existing height then staple some padding to it, bringing padding over the top. Slip it between headboard and matress and you ready to slipcover it for a whole new look.(For foot boards they would have to extend clear to the floor and be put on the outside of existing footboard. Slipcover would then hold it in place.) If you dont sew that's ok too cause you can simply drape the fabric, pull it to the back, and saftey pin it.Side tables can be draped in the same or accent fabrics. Or for a different look, create a mural on 1/4in plywood cut to tabletop size and shape, then cover with glass.
You know that sticky photo paper I think sticky notes offers?
Print out a cute design on it, cut it out and stick it in the middle.
