Would you buy a house that had all wood floors through out?

We are fixing to sell our house and want to replace the carpet in bedrooms with the same wood in the living and dining room. Do you think that is a good or bad idea?

Answers:
if you are planning on using a real estate company to sell, call them up and usually someone will come out and tell you what the best things are to do to sell, that way, you are not investing money in something that won't bring you more money.my daughter did that. she had it in her mind to finish off her basement before selling thinking it would bring in more money. they told her no. that people have it in their mind that they will do what they want with things when they buy it. so they told her the things to invest in upstairs, like new dishwasher and new oven. hope this helps.

yrah. if u dont like them, put rugs in!
It may increase the value of your home- hardwood floors are a desireable selling point in homes. Someone else's carpet, is not.
Hardwood floors are a big seller if they are maintained well. You may want to look at Pergo as an option.
Depends its a personal choice. I have carpet on mine and think its better than wood. I see other homes with wood floors and think there bitchen too. If you look at new homes most of them have carpet in the bedrooms. Again its personal choice. Good luck!
good idea,easier to clean,add a rug just to make it a bit more homely
Maybe not. It may cost more to lay the floor than you'll increase the value of your house. Check the web for estimates of the value of specific improvements. You might do better by redoing the kitchen or bath, or doing nothing at all.
hardwood = good
carpet = bad
Yes definitely. Carpets are outdated and dirt trappers. If you don't want to spend too much money on hardwood flooring but want the 'wooden' look, try Laminate Wooden Flooring. Much cheaper, around the price of carpets and easy to maintain.
YOu saying you are fixing to sell it... If the wooden floors already exist then yes it would look nicer than old carpet, but just be sure whatever you do, you are able to recoup the costs and still make the profits you hope to make in selling.
If your carpets aren't too worn I would just get them steam cleaned and sell it as it is. Save your money for improving your new home... Is spending $5000 on your house going to get you $5000 more when you sell it???
where is the house located? in northeast i would say do carpet for warmth, in south wood is great etc, i love wood floors but prefer cozy carpet when i get out of bed..good luck and quick sale with whatever you decide and
ya wood is a rich material
its a nice idea
Oh, absolutely. I just built a new home with hardwood everywhere.

Hardwood floors (real hardwood--not laminate) are worth about 3-4 times what carpet is, and if cared for, will last a lifetime or more. You'd be adding to the value of your home.
yes i think that is a very good idea to replace the it gives it a cleaner look for selling and gives them the option to do what they want when they buy but there are alot of people that perfer wood to carpet it is less allergetic
I think it is a great idea. Wood flooring is "in" and i believe it adds value to your home. If you go with bamboo flooring it is ecologically and aesthetically appealing.
Wood is always a good idea and adds to the value of your home
