are Vinyl pool liners a good/economical way to rehab an in-ground pool?

I have a rectangular (16X32') pool w/Spa needs re-plastering but looking for a cheaper alternative...

Answers:
I have owned a vinyl pool for 26 years. plan to spend at least $2000 for an installed liner AND you will have to make sure that there are NO sharp edges on the plaster. The installer will probably put in a foam backing, but you might still have problems if the plaster is too rough.

ps. I'm not familiar with plaster pools, but I bet there is no coping system?? you will have to have one to support the liner if you go with vinyl. Sounds to me like you need expert help

yes vinyl is your better route, what ever the damage it occurs in the future,A vinyl repair kit is available,if plaster the whole thing would have to come out, that could add up $ in seconds. My family and i have a vinyl liner, not only do the kits work but it is much easy to clean.
