why cant i tint my double pained windows?

Answers:
The air that is sandwiched between the 2 glass plates that form your windows will get so hot as to damage or shatter the glass (or the glass' seal, causing leaks)! Think about it. Tint reduces heat by basicly not allowing it in. Window tint would be applied on the inside glass, the side that you can touch from inside your house. Good quality sputtered (metal) films can reduce heat entering through a window by almost 70% which is great for a single payne window. But for a double payne window, where does that heat go? Into the space between your dual panes, that's where! Basicly you're causing them to bake untill they break! That's why no reasonable tinter that's worth a hill of beans would ever in their right minds want to tint your double payne windows. To do so would be to destroy them which I'm sure would make you very unhappy.

Of course you can.

I don't know any reason you can't. My son tinted our double paned windows with no trouble. He was very good with tint and the car dealers always called him for hard to tint windows. Good luck
I'm guessing - i read the warning on the tinting sheets.

i think that if we put the tinting layer in/on, that the double paned window may function too well, allowing a greater build-up of heat than the windows were designed to withstand. so they might crack or shatter.

but, like i said, i am guessing.
do you have double pained windows in your home?

why would you want to tint those. keeping out papparzi? maybe try tinting both sides. but the reason is probably because you wont be able to see thorugh anything. because there are two windows. so you will be looking through a tinted window yourself. it would be like your standing from the outside looking in.

WHY IN THE WORLD do you have double pained windows in your car. do you want to suffocate in there?
I am 15 and wash windows with my dad for a living as of now, so I kind of know what I'm talking about. There is absolutely no reason why you can't. Whoever told you that is a n00b.
