If you had one room in your house, that was yours to decorate any way that you want...?
Mine would be my very own art studio...lots of windows and white walls, with lots of cupboards and work tables. And naturally, the best stereo that money could buy!

I would paint portaits of people on my walls I love art deco and to see peoples many expressions on my walls would move me very deeply. I had an idea from the movie "thing called Love" the hotel that was featured in the movie had different themed rooms. I like the bayou and would think that, that landscape on my walls would be nice in my living room. all around me are white walls but i rent and that is the way they have to be. so i put up my childrens pictures all over the walls and smile frequently when passing their smiles.

I don't know about decorating lol. But I would dedicate a room to making digital music. So I could leave keyboards laying out and stuff.
Mine would be a very comfortable way. I would have a very dim looking room. They would have clouds on the ceiling. The walls would look like a meadow full of purple tulips. The room would be made as a very comfortable. I need a relaxing place to be in, i am always stressed out. The floor would have a nice soft carpenting. However there would be these huge soft fluffy pillows all over the place with bountiful colors that match the meadow of purple tulips. So if i didn't feel like getting on a bed i could just fall onto a nice soft floor without getting hurt. I could just get comfortable right away and fall asleep in my wonderful meadow of purple tulips. I would only decorate my room like this so i can get rid of all my stress. Oh yeah and the windows would have curtains that only allows a little light to come through. I don't want the room to bright because i want it to be cool. If i do have light the light would come from some lights placed in the ceiling. well that is all i can think of right now. Sooooo.um thats it. :}
I think you should do the room up, in the style that suits your own personality.
As I live on my own, I don't have to choose. But I spend a lot to time in my den, with my computer etc in there.
I love old movies and music, so I bought one of those large coffee table books, filled with pictures of long ago movie stars. Jimmy Stewart, Clark Gable etc.
They are mostly all in black and white, so I mounted them in black frames. I also bought some movie posters, for a touch of color. Plus one of James Dean, the actor, from the fifties.
I also have my stereo system, which strangely enough, I seldom use, having most of my music stored on the computer.
mine would be of a beach that way when i want to see all of the pretty ting at a beach i could just go in there and sit back and take it easy
my kitchen, very spacious with an island, lots of cabinets, windows and every kitchen gadget available
I like the old english look. Lots of wood and red leather. Midevil wall hangings and lots of leather bound books on a massive book case.
One word..NASCAR
Smiles,,, good question. I've been in the trades for many years and my personal spaces are ALL MINE. In my current home I have each room themed. My Kitchen is an outdoor part of a generic cafe, with broken tile pieces set as the floor, the walls and trim coordinate with the terra cotta stone look.
The living room is my beach house, decorated as such.
My bedroom is Spanish adobe style, with faux finished walls, and windows trimmed out to look like arched brick framed openings.
The balance of the house is similar in ideas, IE: the comp room/ Studio, is where I have my art and travel items from around the country and the world. It's also where I do all my writing and have my own books as well as many others housed.
Admittedly I'm a pack rat, but a minimalist in the core of how I enjoy life and my environment. I've downsized my life often in every move.
In my business I try to offer the customer my own ideas combined with theirs to create sanctuaries, they can enjoy.
