How do you get a cork out of an empty wine bottle? I want to make it into a lamp.?
Answers:
GO TO YOUR HARDWARE STORE AND GET SOME SULFURIC ACID AND DISOLVE THE CORK WITH NO SWEAT AND BOTHER.
Other answers:
I will assume that the cork is pushed all the way into the bottle. Because otherwise, I would say use a corker. :-)
My suggestion is to use a kabob stick to pull the cork back up to the neck of the bottle and then try to cork it. Or stab the cork with a kabob stick multiple times to break it up.
Good Luck!

Break it up into small pieces with something like a straighened wire coat-hanger, fill it with water, then pour it all out.
Using an electric drill, insert a screw into the center of the cork. Then pull it straight out with the claw part of a hammer or by hand, wearing a thick glove.
I take it it has been pushed right inside. Won't you have to make a hole for the cable to go through in which case you can make the hole big enough for the cork.
you could try chipping away at it with a long skinny knife, but it probably wouldn't be worth the effort.
you could get a glass cutter (a really good craft sore would have one) and open the bottle that way, and perhaps crazy glue it back together in a not so obvious spot.
or you could smash the bottle and grout it back together for a cool artsy mosaic look
just ideas...
I take it the cork has been pushed right into the bottle. Get a knitting needle or cut a piece of wire coat hanger to suit and sharpen the end. Break the cork up with this until the pieces fall out when you shake it. If the cork won't break up, then the only way is to hook it back into the neck and try to get a corkscrew into it.
Take one flat shoe lace and tie a triple knot in one end.
Then drop the knotted end of the shoe lace into the bottle..
Fill bottle with water and watch as the cork rises to the top...
Slowly waggle string until the cork bobs upright.. then pull the shoe lace upwards...using force if needed.hey presto...job done...
Remember...next time you open a bottle of wine use a corkscrew and take the cork out..
I agree with trying to cut it up before trying to take it out. There is no way that you will be able to pull it out in one piece. Good Luck-and good idea about turning it into a lamp. That sounds fun!
