Counter top?
Answers:
Yes. You will save over a thousand dollars and the top will look just as good. The trick is to use a grout line no bigger than 1/16 of an inch and make sure the grout color matches the Granite. Most people use a contrasting color, but that will make the grout line stand out. By using a color that is the same as the Granite no one will see the grout line and you will have an extra $1,000.00 in your pocket.
Oh, ya. Make sure you use the non-sanded grout with the Granite.

Although it is cheaper, anyone and everyone who sees the counter will immediately come to the obvious conclusion that YOU JUST COULDN'T AFFORD THE REAL THING. And this will bother you otherwise you wouldn't consider the choice. Here is a way to get it done much cheaper though (I work at a granite fabrication shop in Jersey). If it is a large shop you are dealing with, ask them if you can use some of the countertops that they have in the scrap yard, i.e. pieces that other customers didn't like, or possibly broke and is fixable or several other multiple reasons. They'll have loads of slabs that they will soon just break up and throw away.
