how long does it take for paint to dry?

I painted the inside of my cabinents, and i would like to know how long it will take to dry.

Answers:
It varies from paint to paint, but it should say on the label. However, what the label doesn't usually tell you is that it generally takes weeks for paint to fully cure. If you painted them with latex paint, you have another problem called "blocking", which means that latex paint tends to remain a little bit sticky (a byproduct of it being more flexible than alkyd paints)

Other answers:
shouldn't take long... depends on the paint. make sure you keep them open and use a big fan, helps it dry faster.

Depends on the kind of paint. Water based paint will be faster than any other kind. Read the paint can, It will tell you exactly.
Depends on the type of paint used. Was it oil based or water based? typically water based paint dries faster than oil, in about 4-6hours. Oil can take longer, up to 24 hours.
Since you painted the inside, it's going to take longer to dry without good ventilation. I suggest that you get a fan and put it on "low" setting and aim it at the cabinets. If it's quite a few cabinets, then use the oscillating type that swings back and forth. This should dry the paint (especially latex) in a day.
The amount of drying time will depend on the type of paint used (oil-based or water-based), how thickly you applied the paint, and believe it or not, the weather!

Thinly applied water-based paint on a hot day with little humidity in the air will dry the quickest. The more humidity in the air, the longer it will take for any paint to dry. Oil-based paint takes longer to dry and a heavier coat of paint adds to the drying time, as well.

You've certainly put in some "elbow grease" to paint your cabinet interiors! If there is any question whether the paint is dry or not, why not take a break from your labors and let your cabinets dry overnight?

You'll feel refreshed in the morning and ready to tackle the chore of putting all those dishes and groceries back! (A "touch test" in an obscure corner of the cabinet will let you know if the paint is still "tacky.")
less than 6hrs but it depends on what kind of paint you use
