My husband could care less about how I decorate the house, and I am always re-decorating. Moving furniture around, changing curtains, etc. He tells me all the time how beautiful I keep the house. That makes it all worthwhile! My home is my hobby.

If you look at the way men decorate their homes when they get divorced, you'll find out how they like to decorate. My husband's family gave us the most Gawd-awful picture after we were married and he insisted on having it displayed in full view as you came in the front door. I used to apologize for it to all of my friends and family. Get this...it was a photograph of a dog sled and dogs, stuck onto a chunk of wood 2' x 4' with the edges of the wood burnt and wavy and it was plasticized or shellaced to a high gloss - my husband loved it and the bear statue carved by a chain saw....thankfully he got both in the divorce.

Most men, I think, don't particularly care. I know that when I caught the decorating bug, all he asked was that I keep the colors toned down, no red or neons, and keep the femmy stuff out of the living room. He didn't want to be embarassed when his guy friends came over. Other than that, half the time he doesn't even notice when I've done something different.
Hi, I believe it goes back to the cave man era. The women is the nester and fixes it all up for the family and the man goes out and gets the food. I feel that people that really love to decorate are people that are born with more art talents in their blood. Some men say they are interested in it, just to push (Their) way across, to have the power. Others are really good at it, as designers. I work on the hope that my husband will get excited about what I do in designing around the house, but I don't think he will ever give me the comments that I would like to hear. I have just excepted that he can't express himself in that way, so I don't worry about it anymore. I love him just the way he is...LOL good luck.

men definately care how their homes look. although they do like the simple things, such as solid colour and not experimenting with bright or a range of colours. im sure that if he didnt like it he would say something, afterall you cant concentrate in a room u despise.
I can't say for sure to be honest with you.
When I'm designing, most of the time, the man couldn't care less. But some are more opinionated than their wives.
And style wise? That's even more of a shocker to me.
Most men are more for contemporary, clean-lined looks. But I have had some that are all for completely historic looks, and some that are into almost feminine things - soft colours, delicate shapes, etc.
So all I can tell you, is that I don't think anyone can answer this but him.
