In a 12 by 16 kitchen while re-doing the "old"hardwood floor would painting or papering the walls look best?

Answers:
I'd go with a light colored paint to keep the focus on the hardwood.

I think that painting is ALWAYS better than paper! It's easier to re-do later, too!

Either one would do, as long as it is washable.
If you are DIY, cutting around cupboards and other things in a kitchen may be a bit tricky for wallpaper.
I like painting, because then you can wash it .
If you are doing a "mod" kitchen, then paint would probably look best. If you're going for a vintage look, then wallpaper might be interesting. Paint would also look better if you don't have a bunch of wall space to cover.
i say painting couse wall paper in about 7 to 8 years it well start coming off my friends mom wall papered her bed room. and that what happen to the wall paper. now she getting off and going to paint the walls
Go with paint. Paper is too much trouble, especially in the kitchen, where there's lots of spills and splatters.
Painting, definitely. The steam in cooking also carries oils into the air and would discolor and degrade the look and durability of the paper. Lot easier to repaint than repaper...
painting is much more in keeping with the look, but try to make it modern with a bold colour:)
paint. unless your white trash, then paper is acceptable
Don't use paper. It is a nightmare to remove and when you want to sell, most buyers don't like it. Choose a cheerful color of paint instead.
Paint is always more up to date, cheaper, and easier. Also easier to accessorize with art, tablecloths, cushions, curtains.
