What is the purpose of a tea candle?

Do you mean a tealight candle? The little ones in the cups? THey are good when you use a tart burner, that is a ceramic jar thing that burns a tart of scnted wax. the tealight warms the tart. Also they are good to put in votive holders so that you don't have wax all over your container.

Tea candles are mostly used for potpurri pots. They have two parts to them and a lid with openings on it The tea candle goes in the base and you light the candle--you put some scented oil in the top part and place it above the base where the tea candle is-put on the lid and then as the candles burns, the heated oil scents your room.
