Always save at least 10% of what you earn if you can, this will serve you well over the years. Let your money earn you money!! Then reward yourself by just blowing another 10%, donate 10% to charity, this will leave you with 70% to spend on school and or your room. I'd suggest your use most of it for school and maybe get one or two items for your room. You didn't mention how much money you have to work with but this would work with even a small amount.
