how do you install a shower in a claw footed tub?

Answers:
The simplest way is to get some pipe (plastic or metal) & build a "cage" around the top to hold a shower curtain so the water stays off the floor. As for the plumbing, you can buy a kit, but if the plumbing is as old as the tub, you will have to improvise by using flexible hosing secured to the tubs water spout with screw clamps like the ones used on your cars radiator hoses! You can do a lot of mix'n match with the pieces in your local hardware departments. Just check the thread sizes & almost everything has an adaptor that enables it to fit onto something else! Have fun!

I've seen claw footed tubs on television with these attachments that hook onto the faucet and have a pipe that runs upward with a ring at the top that holds a shower curtain. I would think you'd need to find some specialty company that deals in bathroom products.
