Paint to use on the inside of a garage?

I want to use it as a mini gym and want to paint the walls but normal emulsions soaks in so I have to do 3-4 coats.

Answers:
First of all u could use a thinned out p.v.a glue mixture to prime and seal the walls.. Just add water to thin the glue. Then u should be able to cover the walls in two coats. If u want a lasting finish to the job it would be better to use masonry paint but emulsion is ok..
I'm a painter by the way..
