Go with the blues... like paint the walls a very light pretty blue and get like navy blue carpeting and stuff and get like...a white leather couch..ahh that would be veryyyy cute!

different shades of blue...or if you want more than one color...blue goes well with yellow, green, or red
**** stain brown
purple purple purple
Black, if you already have the dark rug, why not make the walls dark too.
I think that a crisp white would be beautiful with the blue. Then add plants. You'll LOVE it!
a purple or green that equally matches the blue shade
go with purple medium ,not to dark.
Since the carpet sounds dark, I would go with a lighter color for the wall. A pale cream or light blue may look nice. For the bath, I would use a similar color scheme, and perhaps use a theme (like the sun). Good luck, and have fun!
Try eath tones such as taupes. This will go well with the carpet. If the room(s) are small don't use colours that are too dark. Try burgundy for the bathroom (even if it's small).
Also think of trying Benjamin Moore, they're ecellent.
do like a light blue-ish color that should look great!good luck!
im an interior designer... but any colour you like will suite with ur own touch of style... but the trick is what wall ull do... since i dont have a clear image...its always better to do a small wall a dark colour and a big wall a light colour... in addition ... dont forget that dark colours make the space look smaller! ... its also nice to add smthn big (ex: a big bright coloured weird painting) on a big dark wall ... (if ull paint a big wall dark) ... another thing... is to know the tricks... dont hesitate to experiment n play with colours! you can easily paint a wall and then small a newspaper n dip it in another colour and stamp the smashed newsparer on the painted wall!! try it ... it looks good! goodluck n be daring! you can do that with three shades of blue if you want! or a bit of yellow!! - add colour!
If this is a smaller sized room, you will want to stay with lighter colours.. white, cream.. even pale pastels are good. A larger room can support darker colours. If the room is a good size, you can also use a darker colour on only one wall. With a medium dark blue rug, think about the colour wheel and what are the coordinating colours.. reds and yellows, for instance.. a soft rose colour perhaps would go well.
Robins' egg blue.
Wood trim with stain goes well with it too.
It depends on what else you plan to put into the room, what the rest of your home looks like and what mood you want to set. A pale gray will make the room look larger than if you use a dark color. Blues and other cool colors (greens, teals, etc) are more relaxing than vibrant warm colors like yellows and reds. However, yellows are great if you want the room to look sunny. I'd choose a neutral color for the bathroom walls because walls reflect color onto your skin. If you're putting on makeup, for example, a blue wall will reflect blue onto your skin and you won't get an accurate color impression.
If the room is small, keep the colors pretty close... light golds with a spot or two of red and orange, for example, or light blue with a bit of purple for accent.
Your furniture style also will determine the color, too. You might get ideas by looking at magazines such as Cottage Living, Family Circle, etc. The Reader's Digest site also has ideas (rd.com). And you can do a Yahoo search using "interior painting" or "home decor" as search words.
I definitely don't think blue would be good...too much. I like brown and blue together, they are a really pretty combination. This is how I see your room, create some texture and interest by putting up some moulding around the room at about 30 inches high and then create squares with moulding within this 30 inch space evenly around the room. Paint this bottom part a nice vanilla beige. I think grass cloth (a type of wallpaper) would look really great on the upper part of the wall as it gives a lot of texture. But if you don't like the thought of wallpaper then you could paint the wall with a technique called strie. I think the color should be somewhere from the copper to brown color family. Just pick two colors in the family that look good together (probably two shades apart) and paint the wall with the darker one and let it dry then mix the lighter one with glaze (2 parts paint to 1 part glaze) and roll it onto the wall in 2 foot sections from the ceiling to the moulding. Then drag a large, course bristle brush from to to bottom pulling off the color and leaving little stripes or scratch marks exposing the dark color underneath. Keep goint until the wall is done. As to what to paint the bathroom, you could use either of the colors (either dark or light) and it should look great. Good luck!!
