does anyone know the conversion from 72" fabric to 60" fabric?

There's no simple converstion. It depends on what you are making. If it involves a bunch of pattern pieces lay them out on the floor within a space equal to the width of the cloth you want to use then see how many yards you will need. If its curtains or something that doesn't involve a pattern you may just want to buy the same yardage you would if it was 60" and you just have more fullness or leftovers.
