Minimum Square Footage Question?
Answers:
Bedrooms do have to be 70 sq. ft. but the minimum dimension must be 7 feet so the room must be at least 7' x 10'. The closets can not be using any of that area. There is really no minimum size for closets because you do not actually have to have any.
There is no minimum size for a bathroom, but the toilet must have 24 clear inches in front of it and centered in a space that has a clear width of 30 inches. No bathtub is required, but the shower must be at least 30 inches in diameter and a minimum of 1024 square inches in size. There are no requirements for the size of the lavatory/sink.
The stairs do require a 36" x 36" landing at the top and any hallway you may decide to have will typically be 36 inches wide.
No minimum requirement for the laundry room either. You can easily put those in a closet facing the door so you can access them from the hallway.
