I need help with decorating my home..?
Answers:
years ago (among other things) I owned a residential cleaning business. It was a $400,000 home I was cleaning and they had K-Mart furniture in it for their livingroom and diningroom (bedroom and rec-room had larger furniture but fewer pieces).
Determine what your family likes to do and dress up the rooms with fabric and color so you don't have to buy expensive furniture. There are lots of decorating magazines, and, if you watch Oprah there's home decorators occasionally on there that give ideas on how to dress up a house and organizing it so everything fits in there yet looks stylish.

Well, i would go with the plain wood, or if you want something modern go with silver or white leather, glass coffee tables are really good.

log cabin theme is pretty neutral and so is western, or a themed room based on another country. Southwest is sssssssssoooooooo out and no longer popular! Do a time period, or modern. This is something you have to decide and without knowing your tastes, it's kinda hard to give examples.

What do you want to do, kitchen, living room, what? Beige and blue works really well, warm colors (I have three teenage boys and love to decorate). I often have things on my walls like a branch or something from nature, brings in the outside. Guys like simplicity and not having the furniture moved every week. A lot depends on your budget, but you can redo a room with things from a garage sale or thrift store, or buy new, depending on where you are financially.
I personally like the idea of having wallpaper murals. They come in different sizes and they're beautiful. They have the ability to transform any room in the house.I recommend these sites: wallpetals.com / wallsdecor.com and muralsyourway.com
Go modern! Is gender friendly.....
IKEA has the best stuff for any taist and its real cheap too!
Choose your favorite colors (gives the boys a choice for their rooms. Use neutral colors in the public areas--don't go for wood walls, wood absorbs light and makes the room dark.
Maybe use leather and wood or for the furniture, and light white, beige, or slightly yellowed walls for light and warmth for the living room.
Let your bedroom be as romantic as you want. You need one girly place.
Use texture and light for the rest of the house, and let the boys rooms be simple--a duvet set to match their wall color and simple furniture for their rooms--functional. And then just add a few pieces of art and mirrors and lighting fixtures.
What are your tastes in color, furniture and decorative accents.
