would it look dumb?

i bought border for my sons room for $.50 since it was a discontuied well they only had 2 rolls and i would need 2 1/2. would it look dumb only doing 2 walls with it? if not would u pick the bigger walls or the smaller ones to put it on?

Answers:
I suppose one wall has a window and the other wall has the door?

Then I would put it on the two remaining side walls.
You wont see the missing one over the door as you enter the room and you might have decorations and curtains over the windowed wall.

Other answers:
it might look ok... i would pick the bigger walls
it might look ok... i would pick the bigger walls
I would put it on two walls that touch so that the border pieces touch one another and are contiguous.
i recomend against it but watever you like
you would have 2 put it up and check it out. i would do the smaller walls
I would but them on opposite walls. This will definitely create a sense of balance and symmetry.
i would only put it on the 2 bigger walls and then put something in the middle walls to accent it..
I have border in my sons room on one wall only the wall that his bed is on i think you should put it on , and the wall that you see when u go into the room would be were i would put the first roll
the bigger one and yes it would look weird
it would probably look ok on only 2 walls, but could you plan something else on the other walls, like another border (that coordinates), or a stencil of some kind, picture frames or some shelves, something that would give some interest to the other walls also.
i wouldn't do it but use the border on his dresser or closet door stenciling is cheap and u can get creative with it
I called my friend a designer, he says borders other than maybe a baby's room are out of style. Said to a woman with borders in 2 rooms. I guess I will be busy next week. LOL
It might be ok. I don't know the colour of your walls or the type of border you are using but you can try these options:

1) The border goes onto two walls; connceted, l-shaped

2) The border goes onto two walls; not connected but parallel to each other.

3) Don't use the border it might be useful somehwere else.

Hope you find a solution.
Honestly. Go back and pick a border that has enough in stock. I never saw a room that didn't have the same border ALL the way around. Were only talking a wasted dollar. You'll be glad you did later. Spend a little more and do it right.
no. dont do it. it would look dumb. maybe one wall as an accent, then use extra to decorate other stuff.
It should look alright. But for as putting it on th walls. I would put it on the first two walls that you see when you first walk into the room. That way they will not notice as easily that the other ones is not.
pick the bigger walls and then if you don't like it take it down!? its whatever you wanna do?!
Here's a trick. Don't put it at the ceiling. Put it down about three or four feet above the floor like a chair rail. Maybe even paint the walls a different color below it and above it. That way you are saving like three feet of border because you skip over the door, and if you can do it so you skip over windows and closets, you save even more of it. You may be able to get a lot more mileage out of that border than you thought. And it looks much more designerish. if you do end up doing less than all the walls, do the wall opposite the door and the side walls so when you walk in the room the first thing you see is the border, not blank walls.
Really, it would chop the room up and looked unfinished. However,if you lower the border, and align the top of the border with a door and/or windows you will gain the square feet you need.

Measure you doors, windows and possibly a closet and see if they amount to the half roll you need. A standard roll of border is 15 ft. So your doors and windows, etc would have to at least measure 7'-6" in the total width.

Some applications also look nice with the an alternate paint color under the border.

Good Luck!
I don't reccommend any kind of wallpaper or border for any reason. Most likely it is kid specific and therefore isn't going to always be appropriate for the room or his age and can be a real pain to get rid of!

The better bet is to install wainscoating or crown moulding - more expensive, but classic and always popular and adds value to any home.

Your best bet - use it for another project (like maybe accent a closet or piece of furniture) or sell it to someone else for $1 a roll at a yard sale.
Yes it would look dumb, or I should say like an unfinished job. And when you told your friends you were they wouldn't say anything to your face, but when they got home, they would say "Boy that was dumb" She should have left the border off altogether or chose another one. Wait for a sale on enough border to do the WHOLE room.
Do you have enough to put it around the door and window or windows and closet as a decorative trim? That could be an interesting alternative. I like to match borders up with the top of windows and doors so that the top of the border is at the top of the window casing (or door, depending on which one is the lowest height) you may have enough to do at least three walls this way. Do the three that you see the most when you walk into the room and do the other wall in a different color that goes with the border.
perhaps you can get four walls out of it. maybe you have enough to go around the room if you hung the top of the border at the top of the window(s)or doors. or maybe like a wains cote level. my wife ran into the same situation and then I put a chair rail above it in our son's room. if that doesn't do it then I would either scrap the border or put it on the most visible walls as you walk in the room.
