Answers:
Oh Rats! I knew you should have paid attention in that high school math class.
Maybe you should just ask the guy that is selling the tile.
Cheers!
Just kidding - each tile is 1.5 ft per side, or 2.25 sq ft, so you need at least 178 tiles. Better go with 200.
Other answers:
tiles are 18" by 18" right, thats 1.5 by 1.5 foot right? ya with me? now 1.5 x 1.5 gives us 2.25 square foot per tile. room being 400 square foot, diveded by the tile size gives us approx amount of tiles.
thats around 177.77777777 tiles.
buy yourself 200 just to be safe, there will be breakages and funny corner bits to fill in and stuff

Exactly what the others said for dimension, but get the tile company to cut odd sized ones for you, or rent a machine from Home Depot - they will give you a tutorial about how to use it, or get a friend to help who has experience - that might cut your tile needs down to... let's say.... 179? ha ha
Happy renovating!
