How much would a plumber charge me to re-plumb my kitchen water pipe?
This means that I need to re-plumb the water pipe and move it back into the wall, thru the wall and have it come out on the other side of my kitchen.
How much would this work cost?
I was thinking $1000?

Hi,
A lot depends on if you have a basement, crawl space or concrete slab. The changes are much easier if you have a basement and slightly harder if you have a crawl space, and a lot harder if you have a slab.
Either way the plumber is going to charge you an arm and a leg so you might want to ask your friends and neighbors to recommend a good handyman.
If I were doing it and you had a basement it would cost you about $300 including materials. I don't do crawl spaces or attics.
(Claustrophobia) Of course that would depend if what you are trying to do is even practical, and I am speaking of pvc or copper plumbing only.

I am having a hard time visualizing this setup. Generally you can get a plumber for $50 or $60 an hour. If the pipes are easy to get to (basement, good crawl space, etc) I don't see why this could not be done in 3 or 4 hours Max.
Why don't you get a quote from several plumbers?
Are you going to rip out the wall and patch it yourself later or do your plumber has to worry about that, too?
Does he have to break the foundation or concrete to get to anywhere?
Can you do some of it yourself and leave the connection to him?
check the yellow pages of your phone book and start calling. Each city/state is different, and also might be cheaper if the store or person needs the money. So get several quotes and then call the BBB to make sure they will do their job good, in good time, and finish the job.
