how many would think it would look nice?
Answers:
My parents painted all thier ceilings the same colors as the walls and trim and it looks great. If I didn't have these hideous popcorn ceilings that are so hard to paint, I would do the same thing.
Other answers:
I agree it can look nice. It would give a warm, closed feeling. I would, though, use the technique sparsely.

its the in thing to do now.
Paint for wallpaper or borders is sizing because flat paint soaks up the wallpaper glue.
Which makes it hard to slide your wallpaper or borders around into place.
You can still do this but you have to move fast plus when you wipe across it a sponge it effects the flat paint because it needs wallpaper sizing there are if it already painted be a eggshell or satin finish.
The water from your sponge if you do this since flat paint is easy to touch-up if not a dark color.
Just paint up under the border where you wipe the glue and you will be fine.
Macth your paint to the most color that stands out the most in your borders. Just take to your local paint supply where you buy your paint.
It depends on the color. If it is soft, like eggshell white, then it will look nice.
It all depends on the size of the room, the color of the paint and the height of the ceilings. If the room is small, low ceiling and dark paint, I wouldn't suggest doing it. It would give a "boxed in effect." If it's a larger room, I don't see a problem. Myself personally, I like openess and contrast. If the bathroom will have a border, I don't think it will matter the size of the room or if you paint everything the same color because the border will break up the colors.
