Any ideas for a tasteful way to cover a small octoganal window for privacy?

Welp! You can add a section close to your window with some lattice then plant a pretty vine to fill it in. Passion flower is gorgeous, also Clamatis! There both in the lavendar colors. Mix it with a potato vine which is smaller white flowers.
Or you can try a window store and ask them if they have the stained glass decals for them. My cousin has one on her front entry window. It's next to her double doors about
6 ft. x 1ft wide and she didn't like when people pecked in when they rang the door. It's very pretty when the light shines through it too!
You could also try a Valence and a more sheer curtain. (But not sheer enough to see through but yet lets the light still come through!
Anything but an Aluminum blind!! Uck is right!! Tell your husband he might as well through a beach towel up there if he's going for the look of Tacky! LOL
Good Luck

Try making a stained glass window to cover the clear one. It will be pretty and the light will still come in but no one can see anything. Plus making stained glass windows is fun.

Board that s*** up, son!
put a curtain rod up w/ a decroative curtain-i know the shape is odd-but ive seen it w/ regular curtains and it looks fine
You could run shelves across (different widths) and keep little nic-knack type things on it. It would still let in plenty of light, look nice, and who doesn't need another shelf or two for stuff ;-)
Wet the window and apply tissue paper (the kind in a gift box, not kleenex) to it, squeegee out any air bubbles with a damp cloth, trim the excess and it will create a frosted glass effect. This is easily removable, yet will stay in place as long as you like.
