What color window treatments should I use in this room?
Answers:
sounds like your current pallet is pretty mellow- I'd suggest something that contrasts- You've had a lot of good suggestions- Hunter Green, Cranberry,.. If you want an accent that doesn't shout, you could try a Navy Blue.
Where your style sounds a little rustic, you'll probably want to go with something simple- Get some solid (or gingham may work, too) fabric, and stitch your own (if you're feeling super-crafty)... If you make your own, be sure to allow enough fabric for hems, and the cuff for the curtain rod, and gathering...
Best of luck!

hunter green.
Since everything is darker, what about orange...not a bright orange, but a bold orange.
a red/brown
Dark cranberry or hunter green
Do you have any accent colors in the room besides browns & golds?
The colors in my place are similar to yours including the wrought iron and in addition, I have cranberry red accents througout the room, ie. candles, pillows, etc. My window treatments are cranberry red sheer drapes.
it depends on the window is it an asset to the room or really u want to hide it?if its an asset use bold colors like deep reds no valances thats so yesterday!! throw in some pillows that go with all the colors to tie in the red.
Go with rich colors such as turquoise blue. I'm sure richer colors would brighten up your room and accent pillows in the same color. Good Luck!
off-white with a band of color around the edge if you want to brighten and lighten the room, and a deep, rich, greyish blue if you want some color.
